Pelleting prevents the segregation of ingredients in a mixing, handling or feeding process. By feeding a pelleted feed, the animal is more apt to receive a totally mixed ration than one that has separated through these processes. It also prevents waste. Bulk density is increased, which enhances storage capabilities of most bulk facilities.
Numerous processes have been proposed and implemented in the past for pelletizing and/or briquetting particles of coal or coke. For example, Pat. No. 44,994, issued over a century ago, teaches that coal dust can be pelletized by saturating it with a solution of starch, pressing or otherwise forming it into blocks or lumps, and drying it in the sun or by other suitable means.

Free gold recovery by coaloil agglomeration SAIMM. The Journal of The South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2000 57 Introduction Environmental protection has become the focus of worldwide research in the gold mining industry and favours the development of environmentaly sound processes, such as the Coal Gold Agglomeration (CGA) process,
pelletizing, and granulation. Briquetting is a pressure agglomeration method where loose material is compacted into a dense mass (FEECO International, 2014). It is a more advanced and more expensive process than pelletization and granulation, but the endproduct can withstand the rigorous handling methods that export coal undergoes, and in
· RunOfMine Material and Minerals. Generally, mineral processing begins when an ore is delivered from a mine, to a processing facility. At this point, the ore is called runofmine material because there has been no treatment performed on it. There are three primary types of runofmine materials: Runofmine consisting of useful materials.
Alternative siting of mine facilities Alternative loions for the mine itself are usually not up for discussion, because the ore deposit exists where it is. However, a mining company may be able to change from an openpit extraction method to an underground extraction method, to .
· Agglomeration is the formation of aggregate by the sticking together of feed and/or recycle materials, and it includes the formation of agglomerate nuclei. The main objective in agglomerating fines being the conversion of ores, minerals and chemicals of undesirable fineness into agglomerates characterised by a size consistency desirable for subsequent use or processing. In metallurgical ...

· Until the 1950s of the last century, the oxidized iron ores that were loaded into the blast furnace had granulometries within 10 and 120 mm. However, the depletion of highgrade iron ore sources has made necessary the utilization of concentration processes with the purpose of enriching the iron ore. Because of these processes, a fine granulometry is produced, and thus iron agglomeration ...

· The process of sintering begins with the preparation of the raw materials consisting of iron ore fines, fluxes, inplant metallurgical waste materials, fuel and return fines of the sinter plant. These materials are mixed in a rotating pelletizing drum and water is added in order to reach proper agglomeration of the raw materials mix.
Pelletizing, a type of tumble growth (non pressure) agglomeration, is a valuable tool in the mineral processing industry. The techniques diverse functionality and wide applicability have made it a common processing technique for a broad range of minerals.
